Bogong Estate
– the
pinot people.
We produce a wide range of premium, handmade
cool climate Pinot Noir
wines, high in the Kiewa Valley, surrounded by the snows of the
Australian Alps.
We have 25 acres of Pinot Noir, yielding under 2.5 tonnes to
the acre.
Our pinots are hand-picked, crushed then fermented in small open vats.
We use a variety of yeasts including wild yeasts which give us full
flavours and great character to the wine. We gently hand
plunge each vat many times daily and then softly basket press. Our
processing is labour intensive, gentle and true to the traditions of Burgundy.
We are strong supporters of alternative closures, using screw caps and
the Australian made Zork closure for our smaller bottlings.
Our small batch winemaking allows us to offer a number of different
styles of pinot noir. The new Pinotnoir.com.au line is
approachable easy drinking. Our main Bogong Estate label is more
complex with raspberry cherry flavours, nice tannins and length. We
have a number of one off cellar door releases such as “the
wild one”.
We offer the “Pinot Program” a unique pinot
blending experience to the pinotphile and other winelovers. Call for more details or bookings.
