Wine in the Kiewa Valley...

Kiewa Valley wines show cool climate winemaking at its best.
There are now six excellent wine producers in the Kiewa Valley.
All the grapegrowers in the Kiewa Valley have embraced the
dark arts of winemaking. The grapes are just too good to simply
sell them to others.
The Kiewa Valley offers a diverse range of wines and styles.
The microclimates of the valley, the wide daily temperature
range, the altitude and the abundance of light allow a wide
range of grapes to ripen to perfection. The Kiewa Valley is
surely the most blessed of the Alpine Valleys.
You can experience local Kiewa Valley wines that cover the
gamut of winemaking in Australia. Enjoy full flavoured shiraz,
cabernets, merlot and pinot noir. The whites are equally nice.
You will be offered chardonnay, sav blanc, reisling, viognier,
pinot gris, and other enticing wines in a range of styles.
The winemakers of the Kiewa Valley have adopted a range of
winemaking philosophies, from traditional to a bit of high
tech and even organic non preservative. But they are bound
together with the belief that this is the best place to grow
wine and that this enthusiasm should be shared with visitors.
Come meet the winemakers and the people that make it happen
at the six Kiewa Valley Cellar doors. Most people find at
least two days of entertainment and enjoyment, especially
if they get talking to the enthusiastic wine people found
at our cellar doors.
Visiting arrangements vary over the seasons but visitors are
warmly welcomed.
Kiewa Valley wines can be found in all restaurants in the
valley and in many other outlets in the broader region and
around Australia. Cellar doors commonly send wine to satisfied
wine lovers all round Australia.
